Whether you are looking to do full blown search engine optimization on your website or not, you still need to make sure that you are paying attention to some of the more important SEO items.
This article happens to cover one of the more important items, Logo Optimization.
Search Engine Land, Chris Smith, has done a great job with writing an article that we have linked to below. He talks in depth about the need for optimizing your logo on your website. You need ensure that you are linking your logo to your homepage, using the title attribute on that link and the alt tag.
You should already be using the ALT tag on ALL of your images!
Something you should already be doing is naming the logo after your business. For example, our logo has Pulse Media Solutions in the file name.
An important thing to remember is to not get keyword happy and start stuffing keywords where they don't make sense. You need to have your company name and your main service offered, but don’t get keyword spamtastic with it.
This is also discussed in the SEO periodic table topic of content.
